Jen Sherrington
Jen is a children’s author and educator based in Perth, Western Australia. Her life started on a farm where wheat, sheep and a love of books grew. As a child, Jen often turned stories into adventures and adventures into stories with words, pictures and games.

When he's not shooting marshmallows out of a home-made cannon or hanging out with the local magpie population, Steve uses his forty years of experience working with children in social and emotional wellbeing to cultivate and underpin his writing.

Leanne White grew up in the beautiful sea-side town of Albany. A very free range child, Leanne and her brothers roamed the bush or beach for hours. Wildlife encounters (feathered, furred or finned) were part of their common days play.

Toni Hough was born in Perth, WA in 1967, however spent the early years of her life living in Peaceful Bay where her parents and grandparents owned the caravan park. Toni spent many of her formative years living in a small community that enabled a childhood full of freedom and one that developed a connection to nature.

Sian Turner spent a happy childhood growing up in Perth alongside her four siblings. Being part of a big family meant there was great company to share in imagination games, freedom to roam streets on bikes, and plenty of time to read books in the branches of a Jacaranda tree in the backyard.

Kate Capewell
Kate grew up in the 1970’s-80’s on the South Coast of Western Australia. Her youth was free, wild, full of colour and the scent of the salty sea air. As a child, she roamed the coastline on extended camping trips with her siblings and widower father; making sandcastles on deserted beaches, and creating “Periwinkle Farms” in the wind-ruffled rock pools.
Carolyn Eldridge-Alfonzetti
Carolyn Eldridge-Alfonzetti lives adjacent to bushland in Sydney and enjoys birds and other creatures visiting her garden. She is the author of two picture books inspired by Australian wildlife: Rainforest Feasts and Rocky the Cocky, both published by Wild Eyed Press.
